The History of Local 1271
Physician assistants have been working for the County of Los Angeles Department of Health services for over 30 years. As the number of physician assistants grew, the battle for rights and fairness led to the formation of Local 1271 in March 2010. This union is committed to providing a positive work environment, career mobility opportunities and much more for all members. This is achieved by engaging and developing our members and working with administration, key leaders and organizations who share our purpose and values.
